Jun 14 · Air Jordan Rare Air – White – Cement – New Images

For the first time since they were revealed last month, here’s a look at the upcoming Jordan Rare Airin the white/cement colorway made famous by the legendary Air Jordan III. The same can be said of the black Elephant print etchings that are the only markings on an otherwise white upper. They also integrate the speckled look from the AJIV’s midsole, further enhancing the retro mashup look. Jun 14 · Pipe Cleaner Sneaker Sculptures by Don Porcella

There’s plenty of sneaker-inspired art floating around these days, but here’s one of the more whimsical collections we’ve seen. NY-based Don Porcella is gaining renown for his pipe cleaner sculptures, and he recently tried his hand at bending up a couple pairs of kicks. In a humorous twist, the Air Jordan 1 and Nike Terminator Highs both feature a severed calf protruding from the shoe’s ankle, ‘dripping’ a blood red puddle of pipe cleaners. The New Balance runners are decidedly less ‘violent’, and pictures of each pair follows the jump...KAYDRO

LeBron James was spotted leaving Boa Steakhouse in Los Angeles after enjoying a dinner with Interscope-Geffen Records chariman, Jimmy Iovine. King James was spotted rocking a pair of the White, Varsity Royal, and Black Air Jordan VII Retro’s from the Defining Moments Package that was released in 2009. James whose name has been at the center of the much talked about NBA free agent class of 2010 is still undecided as to where he will sign this Summer, however each and every move he makes leading up to his decision will be analyzed and scrutinized by the media including this dinner with Jimmy Iovine in LA. Kanye West, Common, and Lupe Fiasco all made an appearance at a luncheon on behalf of Kanye’s Foundation on Tuesday at Buca di Beppo Chicago. Kanye whose been seen out in the public more often as of late has also been rocking what could be his new favorite Air Jordan model, the Spiz’ike, a few weeks ago the producer/rapper was seen rocking the Fresh Since ‘85 pair in Black and Cementand just yesterday he brought out a pair of the Grape colored Spiz’ikes that were released a few months ago. This is taking the term “heat” to a different level. JBF, a talented sneaker-head with an interesting imagination took a pair of Nike SB Blazer Mids and applied a molten lava theme to the upper, using a mix of blazing oranges and super-vibrant yellows that mimic the relentless flow of molten lava. Black patent leather is also added for contrast, and on the tongue and heel-tab are expertly fashioned personal logo cut-outs. In Mid-March Sneaker News reported an upcoming color of the Nike SB Dunk High with a colorway taken off the classic American Rock album ‘Born In The U.S.A.’ by Bruce Springsteen, who is better known as ‘The Boss’ by the 40-somethings of our generation. The mix of denim, white, blue, and red takes after Springsteen’s all-American outfit consisting of a white t-shirt, jeans, and baseball cap, with the red-and-white striped ankle padding taking from the patriotic backdrop of the album artwork. Springsteen’s music takes after his experiences during life in his hometown Freehold Borough in New Jersey, and according to N-SB, New Jersey’s NJ Skateshop will release a Todd Bratrud shirt as well as an Anti-Hero skatedeck along with the shoes. These are set to release on July 3rd on the eve of Independence Day so stay tuned for more info. via N-SB.

" The Dallas Police Department issued Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young a Class C assault citation for his role in a Sunday morning altercation at a Dallas strip club that left one person injured. Officials said they reviewed a tape of the incident and interviewed witnesses before issuing the citation, which is punishable by a fine of up to $500. The altercation broke out “after words were exchanged” at Club Onyx, with the first call to police at 3:38 a.m. Club security made a second call to police at 4:06 a.m., and an ambulance was called at about 5:30 a.m. Police believe Young left the scene before officers arrived, a DPD official said. Holly Yan of the KDAF-TV in Dallas has more details of the altercation - and it sounds like “words” had nothing to do with what caused the fight. A Dallas police source told The 33 News the current Tennessee Titans quarterback was attempting to exchange cash, possibly for single dollar bills, at Club Onyx when someone started making disparaging remarks about the Texas Longhorns. Police say one person made an upside-down “Hook ‘em, Horns” hand gesture, and a physical altercation ensued. Young is accused of busting an employee’s lip. Titans spokesman Robbie Bohren: “We are aware of the report about Vince Young. The organization has been in touch with Vince and we will continue to gather addition information.”" - SPB

"Police said they found four marijuana plants growing in plain view in the driveway of a house in the 1300 block of Bryan. The truly surprising news for many neighbors is that 65-year-old grandmother Helen Franklin was the person charged with planting the pot. "I was just surprised, you know" said neighbor James Fields. "Didn't know no weed was down there." Police were actually looking for another suspect in the neighborhood when they happened upon the pot early Wednesday morning. According to court records, an officer asked Franklin if she knew what the potted plant was. "Yes, reefer, I planted it," she replied. Franklin's son-in-law told an Action News 5 crew he was going to get his wife when we asked him about Franklin's green thumb, but neither returned." - 5 News
